As I look into your eyes/I see you put up/An iron veil/Why do refuse to show me/Who you are?/And why must you hide?/Is it your pride?/Or can you even tell?//You close the curtains on your soul/What can’t you let me see?/You put up all these defensive walls/ How strong do you have to be?/All I’m trying to do is find the real you/The person behind this feeling-proof veil/Behind this iron veil.//Life is quickly passing by/And if you can’t reach out/It’ll be gone in a flash/Relationships you could have had/Love and laughter that you missed/No second chances/Just backward glances/No questions left to ask.//You close the curtains on your soul/What can’t you let me see?/You put up all these defensive walls/How strong do you have to be?/All I’m trying to do is find the real you/The person behind this feeling-proof veil/Behind this iron veil.//Think of all you’re missing/You’ve got everything to lose/Now’s the time to face yourself/Close your eyes, let down this guard, and choose/To live, to live.
