All she hears is silence/All she knows is pain/The hand she holds is growing cold/His smile slowly fades/I struggle with the words to say/Her life will never be the same/Silently, I watch her lift her hands/And start to pray//Lord, just one more moment/One more look, one more kiss/Lord, just one more moment/He can’t leave me like this/I only need one moment/To say one last goodbye/Oh Lord, why can’t you hear me?/Why does he have to die?//I wonder at her as the hours go by/As day melts into night/For three long hours, she’s wept and prayed/Pleading with God to make it right/Suddenly, the cross comes to my mind/My knees go weak as I realize/For three dark hours, God above wept alone/As my Savior died//Oh, for one more moment/One more look, one more kiss/Oh, for one more moment/I can’t watch Him hurt like this/I only need one moment/To say one last goodbye/oh, why must He do this?/Why does He have to die?//I’ll always remember that night years ago/When I felt for the very first time/The suffering that the Father felt for His suffering Son/As He gave His life for mine.
