Sorry for the delay, everyone! This site was experiencing some major technical difficulties that had to be ironed out. Due to these problems, you will find some of my more recent posts missing. For that I apologize. I will try to get them back up as soon as possible. I appreciate your patience and continuing support
God bless.
On a silent night in Bethelehem
A lowly Jewish girl is traveling
On a silent night, all she can hear
Are her cries of pain
From the Child she’s carrying
On a silent night, her betrothed leads her on
To an inn where she’ll find rest
But, when they arrive
They find what they’ve dreaded
There’s no room left
But, the innkeeper understands
And shows them a stable
They are welcome to have for the night
Joseph wants to sleep
Mary is weak from the past nine months
But they know, oh they know
The Child is coming, the Child is coming
And their joy far outweighs the weariness they feel
The Child is coming, the Child is coming
With an infant’s cry, He’ll announce that He’s here
The Child is coming
Many years ago, prophets told the news
Of a Child that would be born to a virgin
But, the people didn’t understand
Couldn’t understand
The Prince of Peace, The Bread of Life
The very Son of God would come
But, tonight His people sleep in peace
‘Cause they don’t know, they don’t know
The Child is coming, the Child is coming
On this silent night as the world is sleeping
The Child is coming, the Child is coming
The Son of God is born in a stable weeping
Young Mary holds Him close and sings a lullaby
And Joseph doesn’t know whether to jump for joy or cry
They can’t believe they are looking
In the face of God’s Son
Emmanuel-God with us.
The Child is come, the Child is come
He was laid in a manger many years ago tonight
The Child is come, He became the Man
Who died on a cross to bring us life
The Child is come.
On a silent night in Jerusalem
He was crucified for all that we’ve done
And the blood that flowed
Washed us white as the snow that’s falling to the ground
The Child is come.
Welcome to my nightmare
That lives on into the day
Welcome to my dungeon
Where all sunshine fades away
Come on in, step right up
Feel free to look around
But, don’t be surprised at what you see
Or at that constant humming sound
It’s just time sucking all the life out of me
It’s just pain, the haunting never ends
The dark, the noise, with one way out
One way doors so I can let you in
So go ahead, haunt me still
Taking everything you will
Not much here, that you’ll see
But you’re welcome to what left of me
Who’s this wanderer? Who’s the fool
That knocks at my cold door?
I wish I knew so I could show you
What I live here for
I fought the past, it won at last
And now I wait for the future to take me away
From the nightmare that lives on
From the dungeon to the dawn
From the sight and sound of all of my mistakes
Lead me out of endless night
From the dark into the light
Give me one more chance to break this vicious cycle
From time sucking all the life out of me
From pain, the haunting never ends
The dark, the noise, with one way out
One way doors so I can let you in
I’m sick of hearing these haunting voices
It’s time to take chances, make my choices
There’s nothing left to scream at me
I’m taking back what’s left of me.
The wheels are turning
But I’m not going anywhere
My head is spinning
My eyes hold a blank stare
Doing so much
But nothing’s getting done
Fighting to reach the light
And only blocking out the sun
Working so hard isn’t working anymore
I’m losing the fight I thought I’d win
I don’t know what else to do
Theories failed, my methods too
This is the end
So I fall to my knees
Crying out to you, God
These filthy rags are all I have to bring
I thought I’d make you happy
By doing all I could for my King
Now I know my weakness is too great
And I fall on your grace
That covers all my failures
When I stumble and I fall
You’re stronger when you kneel
Than when you stand
I heard it so many times
I didn’t realize all it meant
I thought I could do it all myself
Wanted to avoid having to ask for help
But working so hard just isn’t working anymore
I race around to get there fast
Then wonder what I’m going there for
It’s time that I admit the truth
I am nothing without you
This is the end of me.
So I fall to my knees
Crying out to you, God
These filthy rags are all I have to bring
I thought I’d make you happy
By doing all I could for my King
Now I know my weakness is too great
And I fall on your grace
That covers all my failures
When I stumble and I fall.
I heard Your voice in the rain
Calling me, calling me
And I can hear that same voice in my dreams
Calling me, still calling me
Like Samuel, I speak these words tonight
‘Cause I need to hear Your voice
One more time
Speak, speak
Your servant is listening
Speak, speak
Come Lord, I am waiting for You
I saw the fire burning bright
Calling me, softly calling me
And I know I need to see Your light
So keep calling me, calling me
Like Moses, I cannot understand
How in Your love You’d call this filthy soul
To enter the Promised Land.
Now speak, speak
Your servant is listening
Speak, speak
Come Lord, I am waiting
For You to draw near
I can’t do this on my own
For You to appear
And show me I’ll never walk alone
Speak, speak
Your servant is listening
Speak!Oh, speak to me
Come Lord, this heart is waiting
For You.
