As I walk away
I hear your voice
Calling out from the grave
“You must make your choice.
Don’t make the same mistake I made
Don’t pass Him by
And pretend you’re not afraid
Of the afterlife…
Just so you know
I now know how it feels
To regret every choice, every word,
Everything
I was proud of my life ’til I lost it
And found out I was wrong
So, go ahead, walk away…
But, just so you know,
In a moment you’ll be gone.”
My heart’s racing in my chest
I run as fast as I can
Could it be that my best
Is not enough?
Will I make the same mistake you made?
Will I pass Jesus by
And pretend I’m not afraid
Of the afterlife?
Haunting me, taunting me
I run further away
But, I can’t escape
I’ve lost you
Will I lose me too?
Just so you know
I now know how it feels
